JMMB Group Celebrates Media Partners at Appreciation Brunch

JMMB Group recently brought members of Jamaica’s media community together for an afternoon of food, music and connection at M10 Bar & Grill on Red Hills Road.

The media appreciation brunch welcomed reporters, editors, presenters, media influencers and other professionals from across the journalism industry. Guests enjoyed cocktails and Jamaican dishes with a modern twist in a relaxed summer-inspired setting.

JMMB Group Chief Marketing Officer Kerry-Ann Stimpson kept the formalities brief, allowing the event to focus on building relationships and showing appreciation. There were no deadlines, interviews or lengthy presentations—just good food, conversation and music from DJ Troy Finzi.

While the event was social, gatherings like these also highlight the important relationship between financial institutions and the media. Banks and investment companies rely on journalists and content platforms to help explain financial developments, market changes and new products to the public.

For everyday people, access to clear and accurate financial information can influence how they save, borrow, invest and plan for the future. When financial institutions maintain open relationships with credible media organisations, it can help improve the flow of information to consumers.

However, appreciation events should never replace independent reporting. The media still has a responsibility to ask difficult questions, examine financial products carefully and ensure that consumers receive balanced information.

For JMMB Group, the brunch provided an opportunity to recognise the professionals who help communicate important financial and business stories. For the public, it is a reminder that strong financial journalism plays an important role in helping people understand what is happening with their money.
